Meet the Maker

Hi, I’m Adrienne Cruser and use pronouns she, her, and hers. Cloud9Cruser is my creative channel as an adventurer, animal lover, and full-time RVer. I’ve always had a passion for the arts and textiles though my current career is far more technical. I’m a mobile RV technician, which gives me access to lumber and other materials that are left over from RV repairs and renovations.

The goal at Cloud9Cruser is to practice imperfect sustainability while sharing intuitive art and vintage treasures I find along the way. It isn’t realistic to live a completely sustainable lifestyle as a full-time RVer due to fuel consumption alone, which is why I do the best I can to practice imperfect sustainability with my access and resources at any given time.

It’s fun sharing pieces of the road with others-from the repurposed wood that’s traveled inside RVs all over North America to the ideas I put down on them that are inspired from the road.

The embroidery found here at Cloud9Cruser is unplanned, intuitive stitching that comes from my heart and mind. This improvisation is a refreshing shift from the rigid diagnostics of my work in the trades. I’ve lived with multiple disabilities since childhood: a progressive hearing impairment and PMDD. I find textile art to be a therapeutic outlet for when my body isn’t up to the rigorous physicality that my career demands.

As a lifelong athlete, tradeswoman, and generally enthusiastic person, living with an invisible chronic illness like PMDD has unique challenges. While I’m usually spotted in the wild being a badass, I spend another portion of my life consumed with chronic pain. Embroidery doodles help. Playing with textiles helps. Creating helps. Sharing those creations with others…I don’t know, let’s try it!
